The workpiece is magnetized (nearly saturated) so that it has a certain magnetic flux density so that a magnetic leakage field appears at the discontinuity. And the sensor sends the signal to the operational amplifier. Due to the state that magnetic saturation , the workpiece has a relatively high magnetic field strength and magnetic field density, and the magnetic lines are not limited, so that the surface of the workpiece has a large magnetic leakage, which is conducive to on-site detection.
The magnetic-sensitivity sensor scans along the surface of the magnetized ferromagnetic material, picks up the magnetic leakage field of the defect, and forms the electrical signal of the defect to achieve the purpose of finding the position of the defect.
Magnetic flux leakage, as a kind of non-destructive testing technology has been widely used in the detection of metal materials and the evaluation of related products due to its high detection speed, high reliability, and low cleanliness of the workpiece surface. Different from magnetic particle inspection, magnetic flux leakage detection does not use magnetic particle, therefore there is no pollution to the environment: due to the use of various sensitive components, the detection results are directly output as electrical signals, and it is easy to connect with computers to realize digital processing. So its detection results can be stored and reproduced, facilitating the analysis of the detecting signal and the analysis of the trend of the detection results.
